The New Year brought new challenges for the city of Waverly, TN, just west of Nashville.
Ordered to correct effluent discharge violations at its aerated lagoon treatment plant, Waverly officials considered three options to resolve their problem: add a tertiary treatment plant at the same discharge location, land application of the effluent, or construct a new discharge location via a force main pipeline into the Tennessee River.
